Sunday 5-12-19: We left in the morning to McDonald's and then went on to the airport parking. We got to our gate and waited to be called to board the plane. I couldn't wait to leave Detroit and head to Fl. I was playing with the flight tracker. I was excited when we touched down in Orlando, FL. We made our way to the ground transportation for the Disney express. It was a surprise to see Terry's former co-worker from Trinity, David Marcum. We had dinner that night and I went to find out where the luggage was and went into the Hippy Dippy pool. That evening, while trying to get the drinks at the food court, I got turned around and needed help finding the food court. Luckily there was someone there to help me. After a long day, we crashed and went to bed.
Monday 5-13-19: We had breakfast at the food court then got ready to go to Disney Studios to ride Tower of Terror and then go on to Animal Kingdom to do the Mt. Everest Expedition Ride. That ride is so awesome, Tower of Terror! We got a free shower all day at Animal Kingdom. We purchased my Safari Minnie after finding out that they discontinued Safari Donald Duck. We were able to have it sent to a pick up spot around 4pm. We tried to go to our ride but that was closed due to lightening being within 30 miles. We went a safari ride to see the animals. We then had another rain deluge. So we finally found our pickup spot and then proceeded to get out of the park. Ironic that it stopped raining when we got to our resort Pop Century. We had dinner that night and chilled. Later on that evening, I walked back to the food court to get us some soda for the evening. We chilled in our room and hit the bed for the next day's adventure's. We got a call from the assistant manager at our resort, and wanted Terry to call him back regarding the e-mail that we sent him. So he went ahead and added more fast passes to our magic bands for the Magic Kingdom, got us another mattress. That day the maids didn't clean the room and left a don't disturb sign. So he called them and got our room cleaned. We sat at the 80's pool and waited till they got done with our room but were enjoying the weather.
Tuesday 5-14-19: We had breakfast and went to Animal Kingdom so I can get on that Mt Everest Ride that was closed the day prior. While walking, we saw a tree lady that came out of the bushes. Terry took a video of that. We found the ride which was 35min wait
. When we finished with that, we made our way out of the park to get on the bus for Epcot. While on the bus, I discovered that I lost my Disney Band, so Terry called the manager to our resort to point us in the right direction. We got to Epcot and I went to Guest Relations, and waited for someone to help me. The gentleman that assisted me canceled out my band and got us a new one the same color as the one I had originally. I was able to buy the passport kit. We got as far as Mexico in the World showcase. The weather had another temper tantrum. So we went to our bus stop. We got back to the room and I put my stamps in the passport book. The weather cleared, I went to get us drinks. While I was on my way back from getting us the drinks, there was a Shania Twain song," I feel Like a Woman," being played by the Classic Hall (main building), I was singing to it and getting into it. Some cast member at the resort, looked at me, I thought whatever, I am on vacation so going to enjoy this. We went back out to the bus stop to go to Epcot. We got back to Epcot and finished the countries in the passport book. We then went to Fast Track that was a fun ride once they let us out on the track. We then made it back to resort and had dinner and chilled.
Wednesday 5-15-19: We had breakfast and went to the Magic Kingdom for the day. I went on Thunder Mountain coaster in Frontier Town in the back of the park and walked around till we found Tomorrow Land where Space Mountain was at. We went on the People Mover a few times. This takes you around Tomorrow Land and shows you a bird's eye view of the park. We also had a snack there too. We went on Space Mountain twice. We took advantage of our fast passes. We were making our way back and we saw that there was a parade going on. Terry filmed it. We made our way out of the park and waited for our bus to take us back. We came back to the room and changed for the Hippy Dippy Pool at the Hippy Dippy Pool till we were ready to go for dinner.
Thursday 5-16-19: We had breakfast and after that, I took pics of the resort with his phone. We then made our way back to the Hippy Dippy Pool. We also used our snack entitlements too from our meal plan. We took a couple of breaks from the sun. Around 4pm, they started doing activities at the Hippy Dippy Pool. They had a Cha -Cha line dance on the deck, which I participated in. That was fun. I was even dancing to the music in the pool. When we had enough sun for the day, we went back to our room to get ready for dinner and shower after pool use. I saw that I got some sun. After dinner, we started getting things put away in our suitcase to go back home and schedule an alarm to get up in the morning.
Friday 5-17-19: We got up early and finished packing any last minute things and did room searches to ensure we had everything to go. We made our way to Airline check in at the resort and got our suitcase checked in. We then went to breakfast the last time there and got our last snacks too. We made our way to the place where they pick us up for the Disney bus. There was a gentleman that needed assistance because he was having a hard time getting up. Terry went and told the people that dealt with the luggage. Luckily one of the guests there was a paramedic so he knew what to do. They called for help for this guy. Our bus came and we rode back to the airport. We had a heck of a time trying to find where our gate was located so we had to find our airline on one the trams going to the gates then proceed from there. We got on our flight and flew home.
I learned even though, you may have everything prepared there may be some expected surprises, don't be afraid to ask questions to get where your going or get things taken care of! It was an awesome time at Disney now next year's planning for Tampa!
